Everybody needs some kind of cosmetics.
But most of the people are unaware that cosmetic products are not required to demonstrate their effects scientifically in the same way that therapeutic products are.
The cosmetic companies don't need to approve the claims on the label. Sometimes they claim that the product is tested and effective, for example: "25 from 45 women had a significant improvement of their skin appearance". That might look promising, but actually says nothing about the effectivity of the product. The example is not scientifically proven.
So if there is no way to be sure how effective is certain product, how to choose the right one?! Here some useful tips:
- Know your skin even if you need only basic products. The skin is your largest organ and you have to know what is good for it because your skin condition affects your health. Visit a good dermatologist and ask for advice. You might have some specific needs, that you are not aware of.
- Do online research. Check the products available in your country and "google" every ingredient from the label. Knowledge is the only way to find the best product for your needs. The ingredients must appear on an information panel, in descending order of predominance, that means that the ingredient which is in the highest percentage must be first.
- Keep in mind that if the company change the package of a product or release new series, doesn't mean that there is something new there. Most of the time is just advertising strategy nothing more.
