An interesting presentation about: "Battling Bad Science"

"Every day there are news reports of new health advice, but how can you know if they're right? Doctor and epidemiologist Ben Goldacre shows us, at high speed, the ways evidence can be distorted, from the blindingly obvious nutrition claims to the very subtle tricks of the pharmaceutical industry."

As a scientist myself, I totally agree with Dr.Goldacre. The "bias" in the data is the most important factor when you have to make a decision, but it depends of many complicated factors
The only way to be sure that the data and the results from an investigation are not biased is by repeating the results at an independent laboratory by double blind tests and using statistics like principal component analysis or factor analysis when the data range is too complex.
